Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is a coach anyway?
A
coach walks alongside you, empowers you, and helps you reach
your personal and professional goals.
What
are the benefits of having a coach?
Coaching
enables you to reach your goals faster. It can help you clarify
what you really want to accomplish, keeping you from spending
too much time moving in the wrong direction. With a coach,
you’ll have someone in your corner focused on you and
your goals.
What
results can I expect from coaching?
Expect
to reach your goals 2-7 times faster. You’ll feel motivated
and encouraged as you begin accomplishing things that you
thought weren’t possible.
Is
it true that people with coaches have more success?
Only
successful people hire coaches. The question is not whether
or not you’ll have success, but how fast you’ll get there.
How
does it work? What does the process look like?
After
a sample coaching session, if we both agree to move forward,
we’ll set up the first month of appointments. I ask that people
commit to a minimum of three months because I’ve discovered
that something usually happens between month two and three
that rapidly propels people forward. We’ll meet 3 times a
month for 30 to 40 minutes per meeting. Meetings are generally
done over the phone, but in-person appointments can be arranged
for an additional fee. After the first three months, we continue
on a month to month basis. Payment is accepted prior to the
service.
What
does it cost?
Packages
range from $300-$400 per month depending on your needs.
What
types of resources do you offer?
In
addition to our scheduled meetings, you also have access to
me through “on the spot coaching” and unlimited emails throughout
the month.
Are
you like a counselor or therapist?
No,
coaching is distinctly different from counseling in that a
counselor will help someone look at the past or deal with
crisis, while a coach helps someone deal with the present
and empowers them to move into the future. A counselor might
help someone move towards greater health, while a coach helps
them reach their full potential.
Are
you like a consultant?
Although
we use the same skill set, we’re not coming to a client with
answers, we’re coming with questions. Coaches believe a client
often already has the knowledge they need to achieve success,
but they need someone to enable them to put this knowledge
into practice. Coaching is all about helping clients take
action.
Is
this personal development coaching, business coaching, or
executive coaching?
I’m
a success and life coach because I have a holistic approach
to what I do. Many clients hire me for business goals, but
they have the liberty to bring personal areas of their life
into the coaching as well. I’m not an executive coach but
instead work more with entrepreneurs and small business owners.
I
want to change careers, can you help me?
Coaching
is a great resource for someone who wants to change careers,
however I am not a career coach. Please feel free to contact
me if you are looking for this type coach. I would be happy
to help you find someone that is a fit for your needs.
Can’t
I just get a friend to help me?
Absolutely.
However, a friend often doesn’t have the same level of listening
skills and experience that a coach would. A coach offers a
level of objectivity that is not as easily found in a friend.
Who
are your clients?
I
have a wide variety of clients including realtors, IT specialists,
bankers, writers, artists, musicians as well as other small
business owners and entrepreneurs.
Do
you have any specialties?
My
specialty is working with people from 29-49 who are ready
to make changes in their life and work. They already know
what direction they want to move in, but just need help getting
there.
